Privacy policy
What information OakTrust.com collects, why, and the choices you have.
Who we are
OakTrust.com is published by American Biologics LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy covers information collected through this website.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider logs technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, for security and to keep the site running. If we use analytics, such as Google Analytics, it collects usage data like pages viewed, approximate location and device type through cookies or similar technologies.
What we do not collect
Our living trust quiz runs in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or stored. If analytics is enabled, it records that the quiz was started and completed, which of the three results (will, living trust or attorney) was shown and which result button was clicked, without your individual answers.
Affiliate links and partner sites
Some links take you to partner websites. When you click one, the partner or an affiliate network may use cookies to record that you came from OakTrust.com, so that a commission can be credited. Those sites have their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure.
How we use information
- to answer your messages;
- to run, secure and improve the website;
- to understand which guides are useful, in aggregate.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider and analytics provider, under their own data-protection terms, or when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information. If we add services that pass your request to attorneys, advisors or other providers, the form will say so before you submit it, and we will update this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages for as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterwards, typically no more than two years. Analytics data is kept according to the provider’s retention settings.
Your choices and rights
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, through our contact page.
Depending on where you live, such as California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights. We will honor requests as required by the law that applies to you.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
We use reasonable measures, such as encrypted connections, to protect information. No website can guarantee complete security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
